Two-year olds are very keen, observant, curious and interested in trying new things. In the two-year old curriculum, academic concepts like colors, shapes, numbers and the alphabet are introduced. These concepts are presented and taught within the children's level of understanding and are built up progressively throughout the school year. The two-year old curriculum also includes sensory and repetitive activities for acquisition and mastery of cognitive, fine/gross motor skills, self-help, and social/emotional skills.

 

Children are encouraged to identify common objects and speak in three to five word sentences to communicate theirs needs. The two-year old curriculum incorporates music, arts & crafts and dramatic play to shape children's creativity and imagination. Children engage in creative arts and crafts to express themselves where the "process"of doing is emphasized more than the end product. Creative Child Nursery adheres to the principle of learning through exploration and discovery.

 

Daily activities also include development of fine and gross motor skills. Children are prompted to climb, jump, hop and run on the playground as well as engage in finger painting, making collages, coloring, playing with dry pasta and playing with play dough.
