THREES

36 to 47 months

Three-year-olds are becoming more and more active with increasing skills in different areas of development. The Threes' Curriculum is a progressive-planned program, which is separated into monthly thematic units reinforced and extended throughout the year. Basic academic concepts i.e. color, size, shape, numbers, alphabet and other related themes such as "all about my body, my behavior, land and water creatures, etc." are discussed and expounded on. Problem solving, logical-thinking skills, communication and language development are just a few areas which are given emphasis in the Threes' Curriculum. Children are exposed to and immersed in a print-rich environment with non-fiction and storybooks, charts, and pictures in order to boost their pre-literacy skills. Teachers at Creative Child carefully read children's books throughout the day, encouraging children to answer questions and express opinions about stories. Math and science activities like patterning, classifying and identifying colors and shapes are introduced and reinforced.

The Threes' Curriculum is designed to promote children's independence; thus developing self-confidence and trust in their abilities. It also focuses on the development of gross motor skills which include jumping, running in a race, kicking, throwing and catching balls and balancing. Fine motor skills development includes finger play, painting, play dough cutting, collage making, and scribbling and doodling with pens and crayons.
